Uncut Skateboard Deck – Shape Your Own Skateboard

Create your own skateboard shape with an uncut skateboard deck manufactured for builders, artists, skateboard companies and anyone who wants to design a deck beyond standard factory shapes.

Unlike a finished blank skateboard deck, an uncut skateboard has been pressed into its skateboard form but has not been cut to a final outside shape. This gives you the freedom to create your own width, side profile, nose, tail and overall skateboard shape.

Create Your Own Skateboard Shape

Start with the uncut deck and draw your desired outline directly onto the wood. You can create a traditional skateboard shape, old school shape, wide deck, directional shape or something completely original.

For symmetrical designs, establish a centerline and create a template for one half of the deck. Trace one side, flip the template across the centerline and trace the opposite side. This helps maintain consistent curves and symmetry.

Factory-Pressed Skateboard Construction

This is a skateboard deck pressing—not simply a flat piece of plywood.

The deck is manufactured using skateboard veneer and pressed to create the concave, nose and tail before being supplied in its uncut form. You receive the deck before the normal factory cutting and final shaping process.

Made for DIY Skateboard Builders

Uncut skateboard decks are useful for:

  • Creating your own skateboard shape

  • Prototyping new deck designs

  • Building old school and directional shapes

  • Developing unique widths and side profiles

  • Skateboard company shape development

  • Woodworking and DIY skateboard projects

  • Art and display projects

Tips Before Cutting

Inspect the entire uncut deck before drawing your shape. Identify the nose, tail, centerline and usable shaping area.

Mark a centerline from nose to tail and use it as your reference when laying out the deck.

Before cutting, check the overall width, nose and tail dimensions, truck placement, wheel clearance, left-to-right symmetry and transitions between curves.

Make any corrections while the design is still drawn on the wood.

When cutting your skateboard, leave a small amount of material outside your final line so the deck can be sanded and finished to its final shape.

Build Something Different

An uncut skateboard gives you control over one of the most important parts of skateboard design—the actual shape of the deck.

Instead of modifying an already finished skateboard shape, you can start with a factory-pressed deck and develop a shape specifically for the way you want your skateboard to look, ride or function.
