CustomSkateboards.com now offers skateboard deck stain colors by customer request for qualifying custom skateboard orders.
We now stain our maple skateboard veneer in-house at our Huntington Beach, California factory. This gives customers the opportunity to request specific stain colors instead of being limited to natural maple or assorted stain colors.
Customers can request a specific stain color when placing a qualifying order directly with us.
If you have a particular color in mind, contact us before placing your order. We can discuss the color you are looking for, available stain options, order quantity and current production schedule.

Choosing a specific stain color requires additional production time.
For standard production, we can manufacture decks using veneer that is already prepared and available. When a specific stain color is requested, the appropriate maple veneer must first be selected, stained and prepared before your skateboard decks enter manufacturing.
The additional turnaround time will depend on the order and current production schedule. We will provide an estimated production time when discussing your order.
The stain is applied to the maple veneer before the skateboard deck is manufactured. The stained veneer is then used during the gluing and pressing process to build the deck.
Because the color is applied as a stain rather than an opaque paint, the natural characteristics and grain of the maple remain visible.
Natural variations in maple veneer can result in slight differences in shade and appearance from deck to deck.
Our skateboard veneer staining is performed in-house as part of our manufacturing process in Huntington Beach, California.
Bringing the staining process into our factory gives us greater control over the materials used in our decks and allows us to accommodate customer-requested colors that would be difficult to offer when relying only on pre-stained veneer.
